Orla Bardot

Orla Bardot is named after the French actress Brigitte Bardot. Her devotion to the sleepy little fishing village of Buzios back in the 1960s brought it almost overnight international fame. People came from all over the world to enjoy the beaches.

The Walkway

Orla Bardot begins at the village pier. It then runs east to Armaçao beach. Stop and have your picture taken with the bronze statue of Brigitte Bardot. The best time of day to stroll down this walkway is at sunset. The reds, oranges and yellows of the sunset make for quite a spectacular and romantic show.

Hotels

There are several hotels and Pousadas located on Orla Bardot. Many of these are luxury or mid-range hotels with several amenities. A few exemples are Aubergue de La Langouste Hotel, Casas Brancas and Byblos Pousada.

Shopping

Like Rua das Pedras, Orla Bardot also has its share of trendy shops and boutiques. Expect to find a grand selection of women’s and men’s clothing, especially beach wear and bikinis. There are also souvenir and craft stores in the area where local artists display their handiwork.

Restaurants

One of the most famous restaurants on Orla Bardot is Cigalon. The restaurant is housed in a building where Brigitte Bardot stayed when she visited the area. The restaurant is a tribute to this actress featuring French cuisine. Not too far away is Chez Brigitte that specializes in seafood, especially grilled fish. The owner impresses visitors with his ability to speak four different languages.

Nightlife

There is a miniature golf park along the Orla Bardot for a bit of family entertainment. The Zapata nightclub is also located along this walkway. Zapata is a dance clubs that focuses on more traditional Brazilian music. It is not as lively as Pacha and Privilege, also located on Orla Bardot, but there is plenty of fun to be had.

Orla Bardot, like Rua das Pedras is a gathering place for visitors to Buzios. It has several well-known restaurants, hotels and nightclubs for travelers to enjoy.
